How to Use Hair Dryer Diffuser?

The diffuser is very gentle on your hair. It distributes the heat without being aggressive, which is perfect for drying fine, colored, permed or naturally curly hair.

Dry your hair using a hair dryer with a diffuser:

  1. Dry your hair beginning at the roots and using circular motions, always moving in the same direction. Use the diffuser with the hair dryer set at speed 1 only.
  2. Continue drying, keeping the hair dryer at a 90-degree angle from scalp. This will lift the roots away from the scalp giving your hair volume.
  3. Finish by drying the ends.

To set your hair style and achieve a "long-lasting" effect, finish by blowing a "cool shot" through your hair.

Add volume to your hair using a hair dryer with a diffuser:

  1. To add volume to your hair, dry it upside down so that the roots fall away from your scalp. Use the diffuser with the hair dryer set at speed 1 only.
  2. Point the hair dryer at the roots to give your hair maximum volume.
  3. Continue the process to the ends of your hair.

When your hair is dry, throw your hair back and brush to shape. To set the style and achieve a "long-lasting" effect, finish by blowing a "cool shot" through your hair.

If you have long hair and want loose curls/waves with practically no effort, coil your hair into a bun on the top of ur head when its ALMOST dry and with a bit of hairspray or surfspray then sleep with it like that and u get natural big waves/curls in the morning :)

Excellent information.I spent years straightening my hair and at the tender age of 63 have decided to let it do what it wants to do naturally with the help of a diffuser, now I love my curlt hair.

I got a blow dryer with a diffuser for christmas, cuz I read this page a couple months ago...I used it and my hair looks absolutely GORGEOUS! I am dominican and native american, my hair as a kid was really thick and wavy and long, pass my butt! but of course I wanted to be like most girls with straight hair so I would straighten it almost every day in high school...so it became thin. im 22 now, my hair is more like tight banana curls now too and after using the diffuser tonight and flipping my hair upside down when I was using it, my hair looks exactly the way it used to be when I was a kid! just not as long and thick! but I love it! thanks a bunch for the post!
