4.00 out of 5 stars Cold air after 2 years...Dryer fuse blown

3 of 3 people think this is helpful.
I have had this dryer for 2 years and have not had any issues until now. I checked it out and the fuse is blown. I bypassed the fuse with a wire and the heating element now works great. I just dont know where to buy a new fuse to truly fix this problem though.. :(

2.00 out of 5 stars Cold Air

I bought my Chi blow dryer about a year ago and just this morning it stopped blowing hot hair. Now that I read all these reviews, I see I'm not the only one with this problem. Unfortunately it's a problem that's very common and doesn't have an answer. It really sucks cause it was a good blow dryer, but certainly not worth the money I spent on it. I'm very disappointed.

1.00 out of 5 stars Loved it too but broke and only cold air

Like everyone elses comments. The manufacture definately doesn't stand behind the product. It's a poor design and not worth the price. It's a great hair dryer when it works but will certainly break on you within a year.

1.00 out of 5 stars 2nd one same problem - cold air

Well I got ripped off by my salon, Rock, Paper Scissors in Santa Fe which sold me this Chi Hairdryer for a marked-up price of $265 and was told it was salon quality & would last forever. Well the first one lasted just under one year & stopped blowing hot air - the replacement lasted just over 1 year - same problem. This was a huge investment for me which averages out to a cost of $132.50 per year for a hairdryer. Are you kidding me!? Shame on Chi & same on my salon for selling me a bill of goods. I won't ever use either one again.

2.00 out of 5 stars Sparks!

Well, I LOVED my CHI blow dryer until today it started to blow sparks into my clients hair- Luckily I pulled away fast enough for it to not burn her hair- but WOW. NOT Impressed. I had this blow dryer for almost two years. WTF?

1.00 out of 5 stars Don't buy this

I had mine too about a year and now it only blows cold air. Won't go with this brand again. A lot of money for an inferior product.

5.00 out of 5 stars Great blow dryer!

Mine just died today. I've had it for 5 years and month. Never had any problems with it until this morning. I saw some smoke coming out of the barrel, then some sparks flew from the plug/GFI unit, and then it shut it's self off. Going to miss it. It was quiet, fast and wasn't too heavy. My only complaint was that it was big. Not really any bigger then most blow dryers, but I just wish that it was smaller. My next blow dryer will probably be another Chi as well.

I purchased my Chi about a year ago and now it is blowing cold air!!! I have never had a hair dryer with this problem and this is the most expensive hair dryer I have purchased. Weird! I am definetely not buying a Chi dryer again.

1.00 out of 5 stars Chi Pro

1 of 1 people think this is helpful.
I can't believe this. I bought mine at Penneys and paid around $80.00. I've never spent this much on a hairdryer however they indicated all their stylists use them and they never break. Well mine lasted 5 months and no hot air! And now I emailed the Farouk in the book and no response. I'm reading these reviews and see others with this issue...

Don't buy these products...I think I'll just buy a cheap Conair or something...What a rip.

1.00 out of 5 stars VERY DISSAPPOINTED

blow dryer started blowing cold air...manufacter Farouk, no longer repairs them (from the website, I see there were probably too many complaints), nor could they advise me where to go to get it repaired. What a RIP-OFF!!!! Wish I had read the website here BEFORE I purchased.
Very, very, very dissapointed.

1.00 out of 5 stars Mine last 5 months

I expected this product to last a really long time being a CHI. The cost is expensive at $136.25; five months later it's doing like everyone elses blowing cold air. Boy am I disappointed. I do still have the box and the receipt where I purchased, we'll see what the manufacturer will do, probably nothing.

1.00 out of 5 stars Never ever will i purchase a CHI blow dryer again

After a one year on use my CHI Pro started only blowing cold air. I am very unsatisfied with its quality for a product that is over 150 dollars. Back to the cheap dryers they seem to last longer anyway
