I have had my hair dryer for under a year and it started blowing sparks and then just cold air. Definitely not worth the money I paid for it. And even if they can be sent in and repaired and returned to you after several weeks, still doesn't make it worth well over a $100 . I'll just stick to buying something that works next time.

It seems that a lot of the ladies who have posted got the hair dryer for Christmas last year or around that time and now they're not working. I'm wondering if there was something not right during the manufacturing process during this time???? Anyway, the same thing happened to me. Got it for Christmas last year and now it blows cold air. I'm on hold with farouk (and have been for about 10 minutes) You know, Farouck Shami is running for the Texas govenor. If by some wierd chance he gets elected I sure hope he can run a state better than he can manufacture a stinkin hair dryer (and flat iron for that matter, I've already been through one)

I am a student & bought my Chi Rocket from Maly's in Columbus, Ohio in May '09....I was working on a client yesterday (Oct 24,2009) & the stupid dryer started smoking really bad & smelling really bad...paid too much money for it to just blow up so soon...not to mention could have caught my clients hair on fire......terrible product by Chi & I am surprised as i love their products & flat irons......

I got may 18 months ago and like many others it is only blowing cold air. What a joke for it to cost this much!! I will never buy another one.

Just like many others my dryer worked fine for approximately 15 months and is now blowing colo air. The warranty and quality does not justify the price tag.

I loved my chi hair dryer until it went out a year and a half after i bought it, the warranty only lasts a year so I was stuck with a broken very expensive hair dryer.

I got my chi dryer this last Christmas (of course as a present so I don't have the receipt). Loved it until I went to use it before work last week and it wouldn't even turn on. $130 for not even 7 months of use--good thing I had my old Revlon dryer that has lasted for years or my hair would have been crazy!BTW--don't buy them from JC Penney's

I just had my seond chi drier (the one they sent me to replace the first) start blowing cold air...had both less than 1.5 years total. too bad cause I love the way it dries my hair.

Just to let all of you know that you can get any Chi item repaired or even new. I sent in my flat iron which i had for more than a year they ended up sending me a brand new one and only had to pay $35. You can do the same with blow dryers, i just sent mine in and i have it for 3+ years. It does take several weeks to get it back but you get it fix or a new one. To me i think that is great customer service and it makes paying the price worth it. Go to www.farouk.com and get the number for customer service to get more information.

Bought this 2 years ago. This morning, it was smoking. I took very good care of it. Ridiculous that such a high end product does not last longer.

I bought my blow dryer less than 2 monthes ago. I worked great for a few weeks and then it started blowing cold air and the store that I bought it from will not allow me to exchange because they are no longer selling CHI products due to high volume customer returns.

It's amazing to read all these reviews. My dryer, 15 months old started blowing cold air too. I so loved this hair dryer but can't imagine spending this $$$ again given all these reviews.

I have this blow dryer and I love it. It leaves my hair soft shiny and not dry at all. I also love the chi straightner. I wouldn't use anything else.

decided to spend the extra money for a quality product and I loved it at first... until it started shooting sparks while I was drying my 4yr olds hair then nothing but cold air.Thought maybe i had gotten a lemon so I decide to get another one. WELL...about 8 months later no sparks this time just nothing but cold air.What a shame I loved the way it woked I went and got a cheapie until I decide what to do and my hair is so dry... The company should recall,or at least fix free of charge....too bad very disappointed...

I got this blow dryer as a Christmas present last year. It worked great until this morning when it decided to shoot sparks at my hair. After the firework display, it stated blowing cold air. Real nice for such an expensive blow dryer. I'll stick with conair from now on.
