CHI PRO Hair Dryer

PURHCASED THE CHI PRO GF 1505 1300 WATT CERAMIC ANION INFARED LOW EMF PROFESSIONAL HAIR DRYER IN MARCH 2010 FROM AMAZON AND IN MARCH 2012 THE HEATING ELEMENT STOPPED WORKING. I EXPECTED THIS PRODUCT TO LAST LONGER THAN ONE COSTING A LOT LESS MONEY BUT NO SUCH LUCK. I HAVE VERY SHORT HAIR AND DID NOT USE THE DRYER DAILY. ON THE DAYS I USED THE HAIR DRYER IT WAS FOR LESS THAN 5 MINUTES. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER CHI PRODUCT.

I bought my CHI Pro dryer 2.5 years ago in 2009. I know this because I still have the receipt. I really loved this dryer, using it every morning for about 10 minutes to fix my hair. Regarding performance, I can't give one complaint. Until just 3 days ago.. the motor that produces heat or whatever died, and rather loudly, almost like it exploded inside. Thankfully it wasn't aimed at my head (but that's another issue). After that, only cold air would blow. No big deal, I had used it for a while & figured it had a good run. Their manual, which I also saved, says to send $35 to their headquarters & they will fix it if it is older than 1 year. After calling them, the rep told me they "don't do that anymore because their repair facility closed around 2009 or 2010." That is disappointing to find out now, but.. I bought another CHI dryer the day after my original died to tide me over until I could get it repaired. The new one has an owner's manual that states the exact same thing as my original purchased in 2009, that if you send in $35, they can repair it. So now they don't? This is very misleading. If CHI has changed their repair policy since 2009, it should be stated on product boxes and printed materials inside of those boxes. I'm strongly considering returning the replacement dryer because of this misleading information. I feel like they're being dishonest.

My friend bought me this hair dryer on sale at a beauty supply but I didn't use it until my own stopped working, about a year later.    It has never worked and I can't find anyone to repair it. I don't have a receipt and I don't want to pay anything to get it repaired as it is brand new. Because I don't have a receipt there is nothing I can do.    

1 year and blows cold. Was going to send it in for repairs but not sure now based on the reviews. This sucks...

Had this less than a year and it started sparking today when I was drying my hair - thought it was going to catch my hair on fire!    I will never buy another Chi product again.

Same story...after 1 year and 1 month, my chi turbo started blowing only cold air.    What a major rip-off!    But I loved it and was seriously considering buying another one...sure glad I saw these reviews first!

The chi blow dryer iis great ii got iit when ii was like 17 in high school ii am now 23 and iit jus recently stopped working iit is worth the money and drys ur hair faster than any other dryer I've used

My blower just started blowing out cold air today!!!! I am really upset but I must admit that i did have it for a long time..8 years...I guess it's time to say goodbye but before I do i will slam against the counter to see if it works if not i will go and get another one. I'll let you know what happens. :)

Have had my CHI PRO for about a year, bought it as Bed Bath and Beyond for about $100. It started blowing only cold air a few weeks ago, contacted Farouk today and they have no remedy. I offered to pay to get it fixed since I don't have the receipt and they won't take it. That is not the way to run a business, obviously they know they have a bad product. Will never buy a CHI product again. I can't find anyone that fixes these things -    no other choice but to throw it in the trash. To anyonymous from April 3, I have had 2 of my old cheap ones around the house for the last 10-15 years and am now back to using them. They all work fine.
